Preparation
Before starting, ensure your vehicle is parked on a level surface. Engage the parking brake and wear safety gear. Raise the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands or drive it onto ramps for easy access to the transmission pan and drain plug.
Draining the Old Fluid
Locate the transmission drain plug, usually at the bottom of the transmission pan. Place a drain pan underneath. Carefully loosen and remove the drain plug to allow the old fluid to drain out. Be cautious as the fluid may be hot.
